My Life Up to the Last Five Minutes

So, one of the nuns who founded the company I work for passed away over the weekend, and I went to PA for the funeral yesterday. On the way back to Cleveland, I stopped by my parents' place to chillax with them and my sister for a bit. Mom and Jenn saw the new Narnia movie yesterday, and we made plans for me to come down next week and see the new Indiana Jones movie with them.

In the meantime, though, I have a ton of OU alumni stuff to do, plus I have to get my laundry done and pack for my trip to St. Louis this weekend. I feel like I've been neglecting the planning on that because I've been preoccupied with the trip to Athens last weekend and then the funeral and stuff the last few days.

Also: I can't figure out why my computer has decided to default to Courier for everything. Grr! I hate Courier. Did I mention that Matt and I were making the rounds of the t-shirt racks Uptown last weekend, critiquing the font selection and design choices? We're very choosy about what we're going to spend $6 on. Most of my comments were like this:

  • Really? You're just going to type "Ohio University" in Arial, slap it on a shirt, and hope somebody buys it? Really? Come on.

  • Hey! Is that Cooper Black? I might have to get that, even though I hate the attack cat logo, just for the font choice. It is in the $3 bin .... Have you see the parody video about Cooper Black? I blogged about it a while back — I'll have to send you the link.

  • Ugh! Lucida Handwriting! We use that in one of our religion series, and I'm so sick of it. I'm not buying that shirt.
Good times....

  1. The fact that we know the fonts on the shirts means we're nerds. The Cooper Black one was sweet.
