O Come All Ye Freaked Out

I got home from a freelance meeting a little after midnight and thought I would check my e-mail before hitting the sack.

I flipped on the TV for a little background noise, and was startled to see Dee Snider — in full Twisted Sister/We're not gonna take it! regalia— RAWK!ing out a rendition of Adeste Fidelis.

Oy to the vey.

If you missed the performance because you are a Dave/Conan lover and refuse to watch Leno, you can check out the music video on YouTube.

I don't like RAWK! versions of Xmas songs anyhow. (I'm looking at you, Trans Siberian Orchestra.)

And this just reminds me that I need to look for the Xmas mix CD I made last year. I wanted to listen to it at work on Wednesday, but couldn't lay my hands on it.

I only have two days left, so I'd better get on the stick. It's already time for the office Christmas lunch . . . "Santa Claus is coming to town. What do you think about that?" </inside joke>

  1. Hey now...no dissin' the TSO. I'm not a huge fan but I love what they did with What Child is This on their last album.

  2. TSO is probably the only Christmas thing I can tolerate. They don't make me sleepy the way Bing does. Well, TSO and cute men who claim I'll get a present if I sit on their lap.

BTW, did you hear "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" playing during our Christmas Torture (I mean luncheon)?

  3. Well, now that I've viewed the vid, more comments. I liked it. I'd probably go to church if they played it. (Hmm, maybe I should join my friend's Jay Bakker-esque church in Ashtabula.) Now for the video itself. I never noticed until now how much "O Come All Ye Faithful" sounds like "We're Not Gonna Take It." Dee is wearing something that looks like football pads with feathers glued to them. Love the blue eyeshadow. The one commenter on YouTube said that the bassist looks like John Goodman in the Big Lebowski, and he does! The fat boyfriend rubbing himself while dancing grossed me out. I especially enjoyed everyone doing devil horns while singing about Jesus. Klassy!

Still love "Oi to the World" by the Vandals.

  4. I wish the guy who sang What Child is This for TSO would ask me to sit on his lap...

I've met him, he's very nice and very hot.

    Unfortunately, also very married :(
