Friday Timewaster: Checking the Web Site

Somehow, when my actual project for the day is "Surf the Web," it's not as fun. Probably because I'm supposed to be poking holes in the new site for the company, and not reading the jillions of paeans to John Hughes that have sprouted on teh interwebs in the past twelve hours.

I might watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off when I get home — I think I have some kind of special edition DVD that I bought months ago and then never watched since I know the movie almost by heart and can run it on a constant loop inside my head if I so desired.

  1. This may seem a bit morbid but play along. What would be the best Ferris Bueller quote for John Hughes' epitaph?

1.Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

2.Hey, Cameron. You realize if we played by the rules right now we'd be in gym?

3.If you're not over here in fifteen minutes, you can find a new best friend.

4.Hughes?... Hughes?... Hughes? (Ok, this one could be crossing the line.)

5.Look, it's real simple. Whatever mileage we put on, we'll take off.

6.The place is like a museum. It's very beautiful and very cold, and you're not allowed to touch anything.

7.Oh, he was very popular Ed. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adored him. They thought he was a righteous dude. (maybe this one's more for the eulogy)

    8.(This one's pretty obscure)Maitre D': I weep for the future.

9.You're not dying, you just can't think of anything good to do.

10.Tell ya what, dipshit. If you don't like my policies you can come on down here and smooch my big ole' white butt.

11.Sooner or later, everyone goes to the zoo.

12.(and last but not least)... You're still here? It's over!

(I was going to stop at 3 but I went to IMDB and the memories came flooding back.)

  2. I like 1 and 7 a lot . . . but 12 is pretty awesome. Okay, 9's not bad either.

    And I remember 8, but I don't know if can place 11.

  3. In regard to 11, Sloane says that in the hot-tub (- in ref. to your previous post) after Cameron flips out.

By the way this is Scott from iLike. For some reason I can't post using my name or the iLike URL.

Glad you liked the quotes Ferris Beuller was one of my fav's John Hughes will be missed.

  4. I always doze off in the Cameron freakout aftermath — which is exactly what I did on Friday when I watched the movie again.

And I guessed it was you. I hardly ever log in to iLike these days — I took all of my music off my work computer and just listen to my iPod; when I'm home, I've been killing time with books and TV instead of the computer.
